As the Church lector announced joyfully, “Today is the Feast of the Holy Family!”, I felt tears burgeon up my eyes. Every year, I try to avoid this Feast. It brings me back to that moment more than forty years ago when I wept in Church. I examined my marriage. I had two children, one just newly born. My husband confessed that he had fallen in love with another woman, and that he wanted out.
